Brigantine’s Favorite Café Is Taking Cold Brew Straight to the Sand This Summer

There’s a buzz on the beach this summer. A brand new, coffee cart service is coming to the beach and the best part? It's being run by the coffee experts at Mission Café.

"We're bringing our cold brew to the beach," said Dina Demos, Mission Café's owner, along with her husband Robert.

The Demos' opened up Mission Café together in Brigantine back in 2021. Robert was already running a successful business with his partner Tom Memmo called Bucks County Coffee Company when Dina realized a coffee shop was exactly what the community of Brigantine needed.

Dina Demos and the team built these carts from scratch to bring cold brew straight to the beach.

Today, Mission Café serves up a full menu of thoughtful dishes, fresh coffee drinks, poke bowls, acai bowls, salads, wraps, smoothies, oatmeal, parfaits, avocado toasts and more daily from 7am to 3pm. You can order in house or online ahead of time.

There's grab and go goodies, too, like hazelnut doughnuts, croissants, and gluten-free treats. If you're hungry for a bit more, try the Sunny Daze acai bowl. It's a pitaya base topped with granola, strawberries, blueberries, honey drizzle and coconut flakes.

As for the mission part of Mission Café - the Demos family continues to donate each year to fostering ocean clean up.

"We donate a percentage of our own merchandise sales," said Dina.

Naturally, Mission Café uses Bucks County Coffee's beans for all their Brigantine brews. BCC fresh roasts their beans in nearby Pennsylvania with a next-level attention to detail. Dina even creates custom blends for each season.

"The beans are roasted up in King of Prussia, but it originated in Bucks County. We have two big roasting machines, two stories tall, it's very cool," said Dina.

One of the blends Dina created this spring is specifically for her cold brew, whether you get one on the beach or in the cafe.

Providing coffee to thirsty beachgoers is something Dina and the Mission team worked on all winter to bring to Brigantine. They built custom carts with big wheels to ensure a successful summer answering the caffeine call.

"We'll have two carts on certain areas of the beach," said Dina. "We're going to serve fresh cold brew with a selection of flavorings and a few different milks. They'll be available while the lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day to Labor Day,"

Dina knows a thing or two about what island goers might love. Not only is her coffee shop beloved by hungry patrons, its comedy nights are a summer must do night out for many.

"We'll be offering our comedy nights starting in June. We already have them booked for June, July, August and September - all lined up," said Dina. "June 20 is Gary Delena, July 18 Brad Trackman, and August 15 is Gemini. He's one of my favorites. He's a ventriloquist and a magician and he does comedy. He's amazing. People love him when he comes."

This year, there's a sweet new treat making its debut at Mission.

"I'm doing frozen bananas on a stick and dipped in chocolate with jimmies, chocolate and rainbow, crushed nuts. They'll be ready to go, pre-packed," Dina said.

Pick up bags of Bucks County Coffee Company beans too, including flavors.
